Giusy Moretti, who runs the family business together with her father Omero, expresses deep satisfaction for the prize: “A wonderful news, which we welcome, during the harvest, with immense joy that makes us proud and encourages us to do better and better. Montefalco Rosso DOC 2019 is an exceptional product, with unique characteristics”, explains Giusy Moretti. “Saying Montefalco means narrating to Italy and the world of Umbria, its beautiful hills, the immense agricultural culture of these lands and of course the Sagrantino and Sangiovese grapes. Our award-winning wine can be the ideal synthesis of this; it is made from the perfect blend of traditional grapes of the area. A deep red, structured and persistent but at the same time balanced that can also be an excellent everyday wine”.
The Moretti company was the first to sense, in the Montefalco district, the organic revolution more than thirty years ago: “We are certified organic since 1992”, continues Giusy. “A respectful attitude towards people, the land and the wine; carried out thanks to the latest generation technologies, such as the selection of native yeasts of our grapes, carried out in partnership with the University of Perugia, for the fermentation of wine of Sagrantino grapes. The low-impact vocation was born from our mother’s concern for health, she always prevented us from using chemicals ”.
